Sheffield DA's Summer THS at Darley Dale was designated DA weekend and a 50+ strong contingent enjoyed the wonderful panorama of the Derwent Valley.
After arriving on a magnificent July Friday it was lovely to see groups sat out enjoying the sunset as the heat of the day turned to a pleasant cool evening. Saturday started off on a frustrating note with a stubborn band of rain focused on the North Midlands, however this soon passed and the sounds of the Darley Dale Beer and Music Festival proved an attractive option at the nearby Church Inn.
Normal service was resumed as the site awoke to a glorious Sunday morning, which saw a family stroll to Matlock, via the convenient new off-road pathway, returning after a fill of Sunday Brunch, courtesy of Wetherspoons Matlock.
The adjacent heritage steam and diesel run by Peak Rail framed a relaxing Sunday afternoon to draw a close to another excellent Sheffield DA weekend.
Sheffield DA's Temporary Holiday Site at Darley Dale runs until 19th July offering so much to see and do in and around the beautiful Derbyshire Dales. Pat and Terry Wilmot are your stewards and look forward to seeing old and new friends. For things to do in and around this THA click/tap here.
