As we near the end of the camping season in 2024, we can anticipate the upcoming season with the unveiling of Sheffield DA's 2025 fixtures, featuring some new locations and the return of some old favourites.
The season opener sees us return to Sherwood Forest Holiday Park on 21st - 23rd March this time on the full-facility site with electric hook-up. This will be a booked meet so look out for further details.
Next up is Ashover and the Sheffield DA AGM, slightly earlier this year on 28th - 30th March. Please keep this date in your diary and support your DA as we reprise the past year and elect your committee to take us forward.
4th - 6th April is still tbc, followed by Marton & Gate Burton on 11th - 13th April.
The following Thursday, we launch into Easter in the picturesque North York Moors village of Hutton-Le-Hole. A packed programme of family Easter fun awaits.
On 25th - 27st April, we return to Parwich, once again timed to coincide with the village St. George's Day parade. This is proved to be a very popular stop on the calendar, which gives members the opportunity to join the villagers in their celebrations.
May Day renews our long-standing visit to the wonderful village of Osmaston, where there will be the usual packed programme of family events and entertainment.
Cawthorne, Killamarsh 9th - 11th May is back on the list for 2025 with a May slot, having unfortunately been lost to the weather last season. This site is ideal for a visit to the award winnning visitor attraction, Cannon Hall Farm, location for the highly successful Channel 5 series featuring farming brothers Rob and Dave Nicholson, along with celebrity presenters, Helen Skelton and Jules Hudson. The visitor attraction is a fantastic day out, with the farm, farm shop, adventure playground and lots of special events thoughout the year. This should be an excellent addition early in the season.
After a break for the past couple of years, the DA returns to King Sterndale, near Buxton. This site is excellent walking territory with the Midshires Way cutting a path adjacent to the village. Other attractions nearby include the stepping stones at Chee Dale and both walkers and cyclists can enjoy the Monsal Trail, connecting Chee Dale and Miller's Dale Station, via Monsal Dale, to Bakewell.
For Spring Bank holiday 2025, Sheffield DA returns once again to beautiful Hutton Le Hole for the week, 23rd May - 1st June.
Following the spring holiday, on the weekend of June 6th - 8th we return to Crich, Mooredge Farm, which is ideally located for a (vertical) stroll to Crich Stand for magnificent views of the surrounding Derbyshire countryside and a pause for contemplation at this Regimental Memorial, dedicated to the fallen of the Mercian Regiment. Also on the doorstep is a day of nostalgia at the Tramway Village. Just along the A6 towards Belper, another interesting visitor attraction is well worth considering; the Great British Car Journey will bring back memories of classic British motoring.
After a weekend at Tansley on 13th - 15th June, the following weekend, 20th - 22nd June, brings the DA to Jubilee Field at Elton, a new site in the National Park, high above Matlock and Bakewell, close to the spectacular rock formation, Robin Hood's Stride.
Top row: left to right: Elton, Jubilee Field; Parwich; Osmaston Polo Ground.
Bottom row: Thorpe; Hutton Le Hole; Tansley, Sunnyside Farm.
Ever popular Darley Dale is once again the first of our summer THS (4th - 20th July) where regulars and visitors alike can enjoy the delights of the Derbyshire Dales.
Our 5-day meet at Bishopthorpe will run from 10th - 15th July and timed to coincide with the John Smith's Cup meeting at York Races, so if you fancy a day at the races or a visit to the array of visitor attractions in historic York, note the dates.
The second of our summer THS takes us back to Criccieth, known as the "Pearl of Wales", where visitors can enjoy mountains, coast and castles, all within a short drive or via local bus services. With school holiday-friendly dates, this holiday site is perfect for a great value memorable family holiday, 24th July to 10th August.
Late Summer Bank Holiday brings the DA back to Hognaston, perfect for Carsington Water. This needs no introduction, having been a Sheffield DA favourite for many years.
Moving into Autumn see us at Hayes Farm, Newstead, followed by the regular haunts of Bamford (Four Acres), Shepley, Thorpe and a second visit to Ashover.
After returning to Thaymar Ice Cream at Elkersley on 3rd. - 5th October, we round off the season with the bonfire and halloween meet at Torksey.
There are couple of weekends that are yet to be confirmed, so look out for updates. Click the button below and follow the instructions to view or download the 2025 fixtures or use the 'Add to Calendar' button to download to your preferred digital calendar.
